Innovative Training Method Greatly Reduced Work Accidents

In a people-oriented industry like property management the occupational safety and health (OSH) of employees is particularly important, and innovative thinking about training methods is crucial to the successful implementation of OSH values. Synergis has introduced its Safety Inspector Programme, which trains clerical staff to be safety inspectors, building on their knowledge of variations in property characteristics and requirements. This has greatly reduced the number of accidents related to work injuries, and led to recognition of Synergis by the Hong Kong Management Association, with its “Award for Excellence in Training and Development 2015 – Silver Award”.

A further benefit of the Safety Inspector Programme has been in talent development. By encouraging outstanding clerical staff to take on responsibilities as registered safety officers, it has opened up promotion opportunities to staff with aspirations for OSH management roles.
