To better serve our passengers, we utilize the latest technology to provide commuters with information they want. We also bring together latest designs and provide enhanced facilities to enable more integrated, modern and outstanding customer experience in their railway journeys. Our staff members are the most valuable asset to us. To maintain a competent workforce to support our operations and long term development, it is vital for us to continue attract candidates of high caliber, develop and nurture them.

To provide a platform for our staff to develop, as well as to foster a continuous improvement and innovation culture, MTR has established Work Improvement Team (WIT) to engage our colleagues to take up ownership of their work and working environment. By participating in WIT, our staff will learn how to apply their own initiatives and innovative thinking. Each team is formed voluntarily by four to ten members who are from the same department, or who are from different departments but are facing a common problem. They meet regularly to develop work improvement projects.

WIT has been established in MTR for more than 30 years, WIT not only saves tens of millions of dollars each year, it also raises our colleagues’ sense of success in their works, enhances the Corporation’s operational efficiency, service quality, working environment and safety performance. WIT has also been successfully expanded to our operations in Mainland China and overseas and has collected many local and international awards.

We encourage our staff to participate in quality improvement activities in Mainland China and overseas. Quality Improvement and Experience Sharing Convention is an excellent learning platform for sharing innovative improvement experience and achievements in quality management. By joining the QIESC, our staff enhances the spirit of continuous improvement through learning from and sharing with best quality improvement practitioners from different business sectors.
